How is this a real movie? How are any of these things real movies released or releasing in 2019. Playmobil the Movie, a movie about. Playmobil, a brand that couldnt be more secondary to its main competitor, Lego, if it was a Sega Saturn - Dora and the Lost City of Gold, a live-action Dora the Explorer film featuring a feral teenage Dora - The Banana Splits movie, an adaptation of a 1970s childrens show about a band of animal costume musicians, turned into a FNAF horror comedy - A live-action Sonic film a la The Smurfs film, where the studio capitulated to the inevitably bad reception of the films trailer and tried to replace every scrap of animation of Sonic with a different CGI model - A live-action Pokemon movie. based on one of the most secondary spinoff properties in the series, Detective Pikachu. and its the best video game movie ever made.

This is literally the first I heard of this film thanks to memeology. PLAYMOBIL: THE MOVIE is the animated highlight of summer 2019, taking audiences on an epic and hilarious adventure through the limitless, fantastic universe of Playmobil. Who else clicked on it only to see if the voice actors were different.

I was able to see this at the Annecy Festival in France. I went in expecting that it would try to be the Lego Movie with it's meta-humor and rapid fire pop culture references, but it wasn't. This movie was completely different than Lego. The only thing they share in common is that they're both based on toys.
"Playmobil" is a story about a brother and sister who get sent into another dimension, one that looks just like the Playmobil toys the little brother plays with.
